12 Aug Jamaica’s Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall is Truly “One Love”
My husband and I were looking for a quick romantic getaway to celebrate our Anniversary. We are often partial to Mexico for its beautiful resorts and charm of the people; but this time we were looking for something different, and took a leap and went back to Jamaica after a 10-year hiatus.
From the moment we arrived at the airport, we felt so welcome. We were whisked off to a private lounge for guests of the Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall and Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall. The service was exceptional and the cold Red Stripe instantly got us excited and relaxed for a few days in paradise.
We got in the transportation included with our stay and headed directly for the resort. Within 10 minutes, we had arrived (perfect for a quick weekend away). I was instantly impressed by the beautiful lobby with a stunning view of the pool and the Caribbean Sea. A welcome cocktail in hand, we headed up to our room with a view and a great balcony for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine.
From start to finish, the accommodations, amenities, restaurants and service impressed us. Here are some of my favorite highlights and recommendations for a stay at the adults-only Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall and the family-friendly Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall:
The choice of mimosas alone (I highly recommend the Mango Mimosa) was enough to make me fall in love with this restaurant. And having your toes in the sand while you dine on a delicious breakfast is what makes it even better (they were happy to make me an egg white omelet with all of my favorite fixings). This is also a great spot for dinner, where my hubby enjoyed a perfectly-cooked filet.
Located at the top of the Hyatt Ziva Montego Bay, this was a great spot to have a nightcap. It was quiet (unlike the sports bar, which was great for catching the Packer game in paradise) and provided great views of the stars and the blue moon, which happened while we were there.
Really really good Jamaican jerk chicken on the beach. Need I say more? There’s a reason we ate here for lunch every day. Warning, the mild seasoning even has a kick.
Nothing says Jamaica like a Bob Marley shot colored to match the country’s flag and of course, made with rum… lots of rum. It made for a great photo opportunity (and a mid-afternoon buzz)
Peaceful, beautiful and relaxing. One of our favorite spots were these two chairs! They were quite comfortable and truly were the only two chairs in that spot right on our walk back to the Zilara from Jamaican Jerkz. It was the perfect location for an after lunch reading spot!
OKAY… so we didn’t have anyone there to witness it. But we did sneak under this gazebo and had a great romantic moment! If you’re looking for something more official than what we did, talk to our Romance Experts. They can help you plan a vow renewal or destination wedding! There were lots of other beautiful spots on property to do so, including a rooftop deck with breathtaking panoramic views.
This getaway not only was the perfect romantic escape for my husband and I, it was the perfect place to make us fall in love with Jamaica. Hands down one of my favorite trips to the island (and I’ve been at least a half dozen times prior).
