Riviera Maya

– Mexico –

South of Cancun is the popular resort town known as the Riviera Maya. Here, ancient Mayan ruins – some set along the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea – are just minutes from the excitement of Playa del Carmen’s 5th Avenue. The resorts in the Riviera Maya range from small, upscale boutique resorts that cater to honeymooners, to sprawling all-inclusive resorts that can accommodate a large destination wedding.

Getting There

Fly into Cancun and then take a transfer to your resort. The Riviera Maya is very spread out, so let a romance expert help recommend a resort that will work for your travel plans.

Year-round sunshine lends itself to temperatures that range from 68 to 86 F October through March and 75 to 91F April to September.

To be married in the Riviera Maya, you must stay a minimum of 72 hours. A valid passport and an original copy of your birth certificate must be provided. Death and divorce decrees are required if applicable.
