The lively destination of St. Maarten is the world’s smallest inhabited island divided between two nations. The division consists of the French side in the north (referred to as Saint-Martin) and the Dutch side in the south (referred to as Sint Maarten). While the French side of the island is culturally laidback, the Dutch side is best known for its lively nightlife. But no matter which side you choose, the incredible food can be tasted everywhere. With a worldwide reputation for fusion cuisine, and over 500 restaurants, St. Maarten features a subtle blend of flavors including lobster, shellfish, traditional barbecue and local delicacies and spices like Creole sauces and tropical fish. Plus, there’s always the sound of Caribbean music filling the air with soca, salsa, samba, steel drums, reggae, soul and even rock. And when you add in the popular water based activities, beaches, boating, ecotourism, golf and cities, the charming atmosphere of this island will wash over you like a breath of fresh air. So just like the cuisine, a St. Maarten all-inclusive vacation has a little bit of everything.
